Overview
Ghost Image Hub is a Chrome browser extension that helps you search and manage images from your Ghost blog. This privacy policy explains what data the extension collects, how it's used, and your rights regarding your data.
Data Collection
What We Collect
Ghost Image Hub stores the following data locally on your device only:
1. Ghost Site Configuration
- Your Ghost blog URL
- Ghost Admin API key (used to authenticate with your blog)
- API version preference
2. Synced Image Data
- Image URLs from your Ghost blog posts
- Image metadata (filename, alt text, source post title)
- Sync timestamps
3. User Preferences
- Display preferences (copy format, theme settings)
- Remember key setting
What We DO NOT Collect
- We do not collect any personal information
- We do not use analytics or tracking
- We do not transmit any data to external servers
- We do not store data in the cloud
- We do not share any data with third parties
Data Storage
All data is stored locally using:
- Chrome Storage API - For settings and preferences
- IndexedDB - For cached image data
Your Ghost Admin API key can be stored in either:
- Persistent storage - Saved across browser sessions (if "Remember key" is enabled)
- Session storage - Cleared when browser closes (if "Remember key" is disabled)
Data Transmission
The extension only communicates with:
- Your Ghost blog - To fetch posts and images via the Ghost Admin API
- Google Fonts - To load display fonts (Fraunces, Space Grotesk)
No data is ever sent to Ghost Image Hub developers or any third-party services.
Permissions Explained
The extension requests these Chrome permissions:

Your Rights
You have full control over your data:
- View - All settings are visible in the extension options page
- Delete - Use "Clear All Data" in settings to remove all stored data
- Export - Image data is stored in standard IndexedDB format
Data Security
- Your API key is stored in Chrome's secure storage
- All communication with your Ghost blog uses HTTPS
- No data leaves your browser except to communicate with your own Ghost blog
Children's Privacy
Ghost Image Hub is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be noted with an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.
