How to Use the Translator
Text to Morse

- The Morse code output appears automatically

- Click “Copy” to copy the Morse code
Morse to Text
- Click “Morse to Text” mode
- Enter Morse code using dots (.) and dashes (-)
- Separate letters with spaces, words with slashes (/) or triple spaces
- The decoded text appears in the output
Morse Code Basics
- Dot (.): A short signal
- Dash (-): A long signal (3x the length of a dot)
- Between letters: Space
- Between words: Slash (/) or three spaces

- The audio playback uses a 600 Hz tone, similar to traditional Morse practice
- Dot length is 80ms, dash is 3x that (240ms)
- SOS (
... --- ...) is the universal distress signal — no spaces between letters - Practice with short words first before moving to sentences
- The most common letters (E, T, A) have the simplest codes
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this ITU Morse code? Yes. The tool uses the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) standard, which is the most widely used version.
Can I decode audio Morse code? No. This tool works with text-based Morse code (dots and dashes). It can play audio but doesn’t decode audio input.
What about prosigns? Standard prosigns like SOS are sent without letter spacing. This tool translates individual characters with standard spacing.
